HD Sunflower Class

We painted the Sunflowers on canvas using FolkArt HD Acrylic Paint.  The paints are similar to oils – but clean up with water and don’t have the smell of oils.  The paint takes forever to dry and when your trying to beat the clock – it is a challenge!

The class was 3 hours and we did finish – even though we had to paint Light Yellow over Forest Green wet paint at times.  But I think the paintings look great.  Don’t you?

Flowers were harder than we thought they would be  – but the end result was great!

Poppies 102

Poppies 102 - Sept 2009

Paint these beautiful Poppies and Blossoms this Tuesday at 6:30 at JoAnn’s in Columbia MD. I painted on a photo box, but any surface would work – frames, signs – and add welcome or your house number, scrapbook paper, canvas, and etc.

Call the store now and register. You will need to pick up your supply list prior to class. And, if you need to prepare your surface – allow time for that as well.

I will begin teaching exactly at 6:30.

See you there, and Keep Your Brushes Busy!

Animal Series to begin

I am beginning a One Stroke Animal Series.  Our first class will be on Thursday, 9/10 at JoAnn’s Fabric and Craft Superstore, 6161 Columbia Crossing Circle, Columbia MD at 5:30 PM.

In September we will be painting a baby zebra.  The surface I choose for the series is a large wooden storage bin with lid.  I painted the complete box a light yellow – FolkArt Sunflower – and then each month we will paint an animal on a side and also on the lid.  Although we will just paint the animal; I plan to complete the storage bin by adding the name of the animal or words such as Toys, JoJo’s Box, etc.
